Play Games Directly from TV with Samsung Gaming Hub

Through the 2022 Consumer Electronic Show (CES) exhibition, Samsung officially announced the presence of the Samsung Gaming Hub cloud service.

Through the Samsung Gaming Hub, users can enjoy a range of cloud-based game streaming services, including Nvidia GeForce Now, Google Stadia, and Utomik.

Users will also be given full access to browse, buy, and play games directly through Samsung TV devices.

The Samsung Gaming Hub can be accessed by connecting the controller to the TV without the need for a console or other supporting device.

This gaming-only streaming platform comes with quick access button settings, a list of the latest games, to zoom mode.

This gaming service based on the Tizen operating system will also support controllers from the PlayStation and Xbox series.

Besides being able to run various lists of games available on Nvidia GeForce Now, Google Stadia, and Utomik, players can also watch videos through the YouTube Gaming service.

Samsung Gaming Product Director Mike Lucero said that the Samsung Gaming Hub will be available on the latest Samsung Smart TV devices that will be released starting in 2022.

It is still unclear whether the Samsung Gaming Hub will also be present in the previously released Samsung Smart TV line.

"We are starting with the 2022 model and working to make the Gaming Hub available to more Samsung customers," said Lucero as compiled by KompasTekno, Tuesday (4/1/2022).

In addition, it is still unknown whether the Samsung Gaming Hub will support streaming services of 4K quality or not.

"We will announce the details as we get closer to launch," concluded Lucero.

The presence of streaming services specifically for gaming on TV sets is not something new.

Before Samsung, several other brands have brought similar services on their devices. Some of them, such as LG, which has provided Stadia and GeForce Now services on certain TV models.

Apart from being available on TVs made by LG, Stadia can also be accessed on Google TV devices as well as several Android TVs from TCL and Hisense.

Users can also connect the TV to dedicated cloud gaming support devices such as Chromecast on Google TV to run Stadia, Fire TV Stick to run Luna, or Nvidia Shield to access GeForce Now or Stadia.
