Despite having just launched the PlayStation 5 or PS5, Sony did not stop developing new technology for their gaming consoles later.
This is evident from the leak of a new patent registered by Sony related to the use of GPUs or graphics cards and cloud gaming similar to the configuration on high-end PCs.
A new patent registered by Sony reveals dual GPU technology. The technology already in the PC is in the form of SLI from Nvidia and AMD's CrossFire.
In this patent is shown a diagram of how the dual GPU architecture aka two graphics managers. How it structures in working with CPU memory controller and RAM.
There are at least three dual GPU models listed by Sony in this patent. The first non-uniform access memory that is visible to each CPU and GPU has its memory controller and RAM.
While the second diagram, the CPU and GPU look separate in two die or chips but connected in one memory controller to access RAM.
Then in the third diagram, it is seen "Extra die extra APU" which is allegedly Sony pairs additional CPUs and GPUs that support the work of the CPU and main GPU.
Keep in mind, patents are often used to secure ideas from being preceded by competitors. The leaks are thought to secure their technology on new game consoles after the PlayStation 5.
