5G network is one of the factors that will affect the development of cloud gaming. Why 5G? Because now the gaming market tends to be larger in the mobile segment, so, naturally, most gamers will taste cloud gaming for the first time using a smartphone.
For that to happen, most of the population needs to have access to 5G networks first.
It is no coincidence that then telecommunications companies see cloud gaming as one of the main use cases of 5G. In China, for example, the three largest providers namely China Unicom, China Mobile, and China Telecom already offer cloud gaming services to their customers.
As cloud gaming grows mainstream, other sectors that are still in the scope of gaming will also grow, such as live streaming, esports, playable ads, native cloud games, user-generated content, and many more.
For now, the most developed cloud gaming market in Asia is in Korea, Japan, and Taiwan. Among the three, South Korea is believed to be the most mature market for cloud gaming.
On the other hand, the Philippines, Malaysia, and India are the slowest growing in their cloud gaming market.
